There are many different parts to an on-page optimization campaign such as website tracking, SEO analysis, keyword research, page optimization, on-page content writing, etc., but there are some core components which actually are essential to any on-page optimization campaign.

AntOnaf.com makes it affordable to address the core elements of your website. With AntOnaf.com COPS (core on-page SEO) your website will benefit by increasing its overall search performance and enhancing the value of your website pages.

The key components which is essential for any on-page SEO campaign are as follows:

  • page keyword targets
  • page titles
  • page description
  • page content
  • page internal links
  • page external links
  • page reciprocal links
  • page alternate text (i.e. screen tips)
  • page image text
  • page copywriting
  • page size
  • page keyword density

Understanding each component and how it can be used to benefit the overall site is a strategic maneuver to enhance the quality of your website.

page keyword targets
Each page being optimized needs to have a target keyword or keyword set. AntOnaf.com determines the best target keyword(s) by researching and analyzing keywords using online keyword research and analysis tools. Online keyword research and analysis tools are useful because it provides you with suggested keywords which tell you which relevant keywords are most popular and have active searches.

page titles
Page titles should be unique on every page. Having unique page titles appeal to the search engines and helps to increase your website organic ranking. AntOnaf.com will include your target keywords into the title and optimize your page titles for search appeal and high relevancy.

page description
Your website page description should also be unique. The page description is the descriptive text found within the search engine result pages for your website. AntOnaf.com will not only make your meta description text unique but we will also incorporate your target keywords in the descriptive text.

page content
Page content is a great way to include your target keywords and increase keyword density. AntOnaf.com makes certain that your page content is optimized in a way to appeal to a human audience while at the same time appealing to search engines. Making your page content appealing to both humans and search engines is an art which requires some skilled experience. AntOnaf.com will keep your page content keyword density in a satisfying range of at least 3-7%.

page internal links
Page internal links are links on your pages which point internally to other pages of your website. This helps share the value of your website pages which ultimately increases search ranking for your website pages. If a particular web page in your website is not receiving satisfying results or is being undervalued then creating keyword-focused anchor text links which point to the page in question will help increase the page value. It is important to point to the page from an already existing valued page. AntOnaf.com will create an internal link structure which increases your website overall page value.

page external links
As you probably already guessed, page external links are links which point to external pages or pages which point to other pages that are not part of your website domain. External links is commonly referred to as “outbound links”. These links are important because by pointing to quality, valued, and trusted resources on the web it helps to show that your website is reputable and credible which ultimately leads to a greater ranking within the search engines. AntOnaf.com will research and locate quality external pages then create strategic links on your website pages to point to the external pages.

page reciprocal links
Reciprocal links are links which are reciprocated or better known as link exchange — the exchanging of links. When exchanging links it is important that you only exchange links with relevant and quality resources, doing anything otherwise can tarnish your relationship with the search engines. A general rule of thumb when exchanging links is to ask yourself does it provide a valued benefit to your website visitors or is it purely for the benefit of increasing links for search engine appeal? If it benefits the website visitors then its okay to exchange the link, if it provides little or no benefit to the website visitor then there is not any reason to exchange the link. AntOnaf.com will create quality reciprocal links with trusted link partners.

page alternate text (i.e. screen tip)
Links on your page can be accompanied with alternate text or screen tips. These are commonly friendly descriptors which help web visitors determine what the link is about. It is beneficial to include screen tips as this will increase keyword density. AntOnaf.com will use alternate text to your advantage to increase your website keyword density.

page image text
Image text is similar to alternate text, but instead it is used for images. Image text is a way to give your pictures, photos, and graphics words while increasing your website overall keyword density. AntOnaf.com uses your image text strategically to increase your target keyword density.

page copywriting
Page copywriting (or page copy) is the text on the page which draws the attention the human audience. It is the content on the page which speaks to an human audience. Page copy can be the lifeblood of a website as it usually draws the visitor in and potentially makes the sale (or generates the lead). AntOnaf.com will write compelling page copy which hones in on the visitor and speaks directly to them.

page size
Page size is very important, especially for page loading. If your website page is too large then it will drastically effect the loading time of your website. If your website takes 5 or more seconds to load then you are most likely losing traffic, because most visitors back out of a slow loading website. AntOnaf.com analyzes your website pages for slow loading and optimize on-page bottlenecks, such as images, code, etc. to decrease page load time.

page keyword density
Keyword density is highly important for any SEO campaign. Increasing keyword density helps to categorize and tell search engines what your website pages are about, thus increasing your website organic ranking. AntOnaf.com uses many different techniques for increasing keyword density on your website pages.

The above are SEO services which you can execute yourself if you have the time, dedication, and aptitude.  Though in many cases it is more beneficial to allow the professionals to execute such a service as it will be more rewarding when you have a strategic execution to the above.  In this case, contact AntOnaf.com for our professional services:  http://www.antonaf.com/contact/

I’m Bringing Customer Service Back

Most big companies  have neglected customer service in their organization.  Over the years, customer service has declined drastically in many large corporations and even in the smaller companies.  Well, at AntOnaf.com we are bringing customer service back.  We are extremely client-customer centric because we want to be sure our clients are getting the best possible services when using us.

Craigslist is Cracking Down on Spammers With Phone Verification

When posting in “Services” you now need to sign up for a Craigslist account, but not only do you need an accuont your account needs to be verified via phone.  This extra touch will minimize the amount of SPAM received in the Services category.  This may have become a feature in other categories but Services is all I’ve encountered.  I have been told that this has already existed for the Erotic category for some time now, but since I never post there I had no way of knowing.

So what does all this mean?  It definitely does not mean SPAM on Craigslist is gone forever, it just mean new ways are being developed to defeat the system.  I actually learned about this because my Craigslist auto-posting software crapped out on me and I was like what the f*ck is wrong!  So after several attempts of trying to post with the auto-poster I decided to try to manually post and was greeted with the following:

Craigslist.org Create Account for Access

Thinking I done blew something up and raised a flag which got my IP under investigation for suspicious activity, I simply thought that this was related to my IP — or maybe even cookies, so I first deleted all my cookies and tried again … same message … definitely something wrong with the IP address I was thinking … so I logged in from one of my remote locations which sits on a completely different C class IP address and different subnet — no relationship whatsoever with my home computer.   BAM!  Got the same message again, that’s when I knew it was a Craigslist new feature.

So I went ahead and signed up for an account.  I thought no biggie!  I already have 100 gmail accounts which I use for this sort of stuff.  So I signed up for the account and figured I’ll create about 20 accounts just to do my auto-posting thing, but to my surprise before I could post I had to verfiy my account … not by email but by phone this time!  BUMMER!

Phone Verification needed for Craigslist

This not only discouraged my entire plan to auto-post my classified listing this also meant that I would now need to find a way around this phone verficiation thingy!  Well, not so bad — since this has already been a feature in the Erotic section many have already had a work around for such a thing.  With services such as Google Grand Central or Brring.com it is almost a simple task to get as many phone numbers you need for verification.

I actually like this new move by Craigslist because the fact is it will probably discourage many spammers and many competitors from posting.  Right now, the way it is the winners of the game will be those who are able to continue posting in multiple categories and multiple cities without being affected by the account sign up or phone verification.  This actually leaves the door wide open for the survival of the fittest.  I strongly suggest you jump aboard now and get your postings out there before this system gets exploited and things are back to normal with Craigslist full of SPAM or competition.

Looking at some of the major cities I noticed that the “computer” services section is only displaying about half a page to a page of listings for any given day when normally any given day would show about 2-3 pages of listings which tells me that the SPAM control is working.  I think this SPAM filter took place on May 7th so if you look at the listing prior to May 7th then you will see what I mean.  This is definitely going to be a good thing for those who can get past this SPAM filter early in the game.

Go Big Network is Doing Big Things

I just learned about GoBigNetwork.com (http://www.gobignetwork.com) and it seems like its a pretty cool place to be as a service provider.  It’s a site dedicated to startups and connects angel investors, venture capitalist, service providers, job seekers, employers, business owners, professionals, and startups.  It’s almost like a one-stop shop for startups, starting from creating a business plan to obtaining funding to finding employees to outsourcing projects.

Google Recent Archive Date Search is Great for Link Building

Google recent archive search is basically searching by date archived (indexed and crawled).  To enable this function, first do a search for anything then you will simply click the Advanced Search link next to the Google search bar.  Under the Advanced Search properties page you will see a link with a plus sign (+) next to it titled “Date, usage rights, numeric range, and more” … click the plus sign (+) to expand the tree.  Change the “Date” value to “past 24 hours” then click the Advanced Search button.Google Advanced Search
Google Date Archive Search

How is this useful for link building?
Let’s say you have a website which targets the keyword ‘farm animals’ so you do a recent archive date search for the keyword ‘farm animals’ in the past 24 hours, this will give you a list of recently archived (indexed and crawled) pages which relate to your target keyword.  In most cases these are fresh pages or new mentions of your target keyword.

The great thing about this list is that you know you have pages which Google is actively indexing and crawling, so it already has some value because it has been cached in the past 24 hours — it’s active in Google.  These newly found resources are commonly available for placement of a relevant link.

My First GMail Phising SPAM!

I never before seen Google Gmail being spoofed, but today I got my first Gmail phising SPAM!  For me, it was obviously a spoof, to start the greeting read “Dear Members”, I have at least 15 accounts which are tied into Google and they are one of the largest companies in the world, are you telling me they couldn’t address me by my real name.  That was a big “red flag” for me.  The next red flag which sealed it for me was the link in the message (update account) pointed to www[DOT]server-gmail[DOT]com, being from the IT world I knew this was a phish!

GMail Email Spoof

The reason folks are phising for Gmail accounts (a free email service) is not so they can SPAM your email address — they already got that!  So how can they benefit?  What do they want with your Gmail username and password??  It’s Gmail for heaven’s sake!  Well, not really, because for most your Gmail username/password is also your Google Adwords and Google Adsense account, as well as a suite of other accounts, but Adwords & Adsense is the money ringer!  Imagine if someone or a team of phishers had access to thousands of accounts a day with valid Adwords accounts and the average account (credit card) shuts down in 24 hours due to card cancellation or Adwords lockout.  To recoup money they simply go to places on the web and sell paid search placement, when they use a account they first change the password to prevent immediate discontinuance by the credit card holder — then advertise the hell out of client websites until the account is inactive.  In a short time they can make large sums of money.

I reported this message to the real Gmail Team!

Yahoo Reports SPAM Sites

Yahoo! Reporting SPAM SitesYahoo! Flags SPAM sites in Search Results

I am not sure how new or old this is, but this is my first encounter with Yahoo! actually reporting on a SPAM site in its search results.  I always knew that the search engines reported harmful sites in the sense that your computer can potentially be infected with a virus or spyware if you click-thru and visit particular sites, but Yahoo! has went further and is reporting sites as harmful if they send unsolicited emails.

The function is powered by McAfee so I would assume the data is collected from McAfee spam filtering results.  It is only a guess, but I would conclude that the function is triggered by the number of SPAM votes a particular email receives and the association with the domain name will in effect have a negative SPAM tag.  The site I came across is actually a large news station in the local area, which means either they are sending unsolicited emails or many people report it as SPAM in their Yahoo! inbox.

It’s only a matter of time that other search engines will adopt the data usage of SPAM reports in emails and begin filtering search results by the number of SPAM reports the domain receives in the email client from visitors.  If the domain isn’t good enough for email readers, then why would it be good enough for search users?  I’ve made this far-fetched claim back in 2006, see here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1742186&postcount=12

I am making this claim again today, that search engines use the SPAM votes to flag sites and give value to sites.

My Favorite Competitor Analysis Tools

Often times you will see rank position fluctuation when you rank for a competitive keyword.  Non-competitive keywords are much easier to sustain for a long period of time, but competitive keywords you must have a continued SEO effort, because your competitors are doing SEO to stay competitive.  How do you do better than your competitors?  Know how — DO BETTER THAN YOUR COMPETITORS!

The best way to achieve this goal is to stop trying to outrank the search engine and try to outrank your competitor.  Learn what your competitor is doing and do better.  Many times competitors are ranking for natural reasons without any SEO effort, this mean you have a grand advantage to take the lead.  Just make your website growth seem natural at a more appealing rate.  :)

Here is my list of my favorite competitor analysis tools:

  1. Google Keyword Research Tool- this tool allows you to get an indication on how popular a keyword is and an indication on how much competition you have  for that keyword.  The data from this tool is based off of Google Adwords data.  Since that is the case I will caution that Google may have a bias on transpiring this data because they are vested financially by offering this tool.  If they choose, they can simply display keywords in order of bidding value oppose to its organic value.  I doubt Google is so “EVIL”.
  2. Compete- Compete is a web-based site analysis tool which gives you information about competitor websites, such as total visitors, total unique visitors, total pageviews, total pageviews per visitor, etc.  This information can be used in a number of ways.  I typically use this information to see how my website stacks up against my competitor and their traffic.  I also use this data to research new markets I plan to break into or to research multiple sites which I want to market on, such as to see if site A gets more traffic than site B — then I’ll make a more wise and informative marketing decision.  They have a paid version that goes deeper.  It’s a great tool!
  3. Quantcast- Quantcast gives (seemingly accurate) estimation of website traffic and demographics.  It shows the average monthly visits and  demographics for the site, such as: gender ratio, age ratio, household income ratio, ethnicity ratio, household education ratio, and children ages in household ratio.  As you can imagine such data can be used to target your competitors audience.  This can be very useful data if used right.
  4. SEO SpyGlass- One of the better tools out there for competitive analysis.  This tool goes deep and provides friendly reports.  It does cost a fee to have full access to this tool, but the free version will allow you to see how it actually works.  Well worth the money once you see it in action.
  5. SEO for Firefox - SEO for Firefox is a free and easy to use tool jam-packed with useful information.  It calculates the number of links and analyze data right from a Google search query.  The results are displayed in the search listings.  It is a must have plug-in on Firefox for any SEO.
