Gas Prices and the Internet
With the continuous increase of gas prices this sets the stage for another tech boom and economy growth. America is known to go through hardships and tough times, but we always manage to come out on top!
Why?
Because we accept change and reward freedom. If you think for a second America is in its doomed days then you are sadly mistaken, because we’ve been through far worst adversities.
We have a bounce back economy and it is time you get in line for your turn of the boom! Remember the last tech boom, the mid to late 90’s. For some reason you missed the bus and didn’t get a piece of the pie. Well, if you act now then you may put yourself in an opportunist position.
Do you think the folks who caught the greater slice pie for the tech boom of the 90’s were startups in the 90’s. No! They were early adopters since the 80’s.
Imagine 2020 (12 years away).
You operate a successful web business which has a 12 year web presence and solid trust relationship within the search engines (or whatever widget is used to find websites at that time — I imagine it will still be search engines).
Now, how does gas prices play into all of this and the direction of the tech boom, because increasing gas prices are making more people turn to the Internet for their needs, including common needs such as food shopping, pharmacy orders, and basic local shopping needs. Commuters are getting smarter and becoming more conscious about driving. At times like these many people are rebelling against allowing gas companies to destroy their lives by adjusting their lifestyle.
In some cases, you are breaking even by shopping online since you have to pay for shipping anyway, but I have two things to say about that:
- I’d rather give my money to a business on the Internet than to the gas company (even though the gas companies are going to get paid anyway, because your product has to get shipped to you)
- I’ll look for free shipping deals. I’ll take it even farther and will shop for free green shipping deals (green shipping is environmental friendly shipping resources)
The bus is coming, but there is only room for a few so you better get on line!
Search engine optimization and social media is going to play an important role in making sure you don’t miss the bus this come around. Get your ducks in a row now and keep up with the ever-changing Internet marketing world so you’ll be able to adjust your campaign as neccessary.
